Independent Trucks was co-founded by Richard Novak, Jay Shiurman, Fausto Vitello, and Eric Swenson in 1978. Their original stage 1 truck was designed as a response to the lack of quality trucks on the market at the time. Created by skateboard illustrator Jim Phillips, their logo has become iconic. Since then Indy have become one of the world's most recognised skate brands, ridden by pro's the world over.
